Well, we’ve made it past Christmas and are full-speed-ahead towards 2017. I must have blinked or something, y’all. Is it just me or do the years keep goin’ by faster and faster?
While Michael and I love to sometimes take a little break from the craziness around the start of the New Year, you can nearly always find me cookin’ in the kitchen on New Year’s Day. I just love makin’ turnip greens, collards, hog jowl, and black-eyed peas, and that’s because I want to usher in good health, good luck, and prosperity. That’s what they say those foods do anyways. Maybe it’s just plain superstition, but superstition sure can be fun—and did I mention delicious?
